These terms govern your use of La caisse, the platform operated by Citizen Pay BV. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. About these terms

La caisse is operated by Citizen Pay BV, a Belgian company with registered office at Cantersteen 47, 1000 Brussels, company number 1029.985.788. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Citizen Pay BV ("we", "us").

2. Who can use La caisse

You must be at least 18, or the legal age of majority where you live, and authorised to bind any organisation on whose behalf you act.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access (security@lacaisse.eu).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use La caisse for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable sanctions;
  • circumvent technical limits, abuse the API, or attempt unauthorised access;
  • upload malware or content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful;
  • impersonate others or misrepresent your fund's purpose.

5. Subscription and billing

  • Hosted plan: €20/month per fund, billed monthly. VAT applied where required.
  • Free for non-profits and schools: registered non-profits, charities, and educational institutions use La caisse free of charge. Provide registration evidence on signup or in account settings.
  • Self-hosted: La caisse is licensed under AGPL-3.0 — self-hosting is free, and these terms cover only the hosted service offered by Citizen Pay BV.
  • Refunds: monthly fees are non-refundable, but you may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Open source

La caisse is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. You may inspect, fork, run, and modify the code in accordance with the AGPL-3.0. Third-party components are listed on the licenses page.

7. Your data

Your use of La caisse is also subject to our privacy notice. You retain ownership of data you upload and can export fund data at any time from the fund settings page.

8. Service availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep La caisse available but offer no uptime guarantee for the free or standard plans. We may perform maintenance, with notice where feasible.

9. Disclaimers

La caisse is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. La caisse is a tool you operate; you remain responsible for your fund's lawful operation and the financial decisions you make with it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim and (b) €100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

11. Termination

  • By you: cancel at any time from account settings. Your data is exportable for 30 days after closure, then deleted.
  • By us: we may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or use La caisse unlawfully. Where feasible we will give notice and an opportunity to cure.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms shall be submitted to the courts of Brussels, Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
